ABOUT QITS 
 

The notion of traffic has become important to the daily running of the country. As the population in Qatar increases, and tourism is on the rise, congestion and other traffic-related problems are becoming an issue that needs to be dealt with. The development of the Qatar Intelligent Traffic information System software (QITS) will allow for the traffic on roads in Qatar to be monitored and analyzed, and the information gathered will be able to assist the authorities in the traffic department to develop solutions to congestion problems caused by high vehicle volumes or emergencies (collisions, disasters). The software will also allow manufacturers of driverless vehicles to develop safe systems within their cars, improving the functionality of crash-avoidance strategies.
